IACLE INDUSTRY INFORMER - IACLE EXPANDS OPERATIONS IN CHINA

Several years ago, IACLE's Chinese members participated in IACLE programs on a very limited basis. Today, due to the strong relationships that IACLE's National Coordinator Qu Xiaomei has with both members and local industry representatives, we have seen not only an increase in our membership, but also an increase in activity.

IACLE programs such as the five Intensive Training Programs held since 2001, have resulted in more knowledgeable and skilled contact lens educators who are confident in providing contact lens education to their students and practitioners. Translation of resources - such as the IACLE Contact Lens Course and IACLE programs such as the Distance Learning Program, Student Trial Exams and Accreditation Examination - has also greatly contributed to this increase in knowledge and confidence.

China continues to be a priority country for both IACLE and our industry supporters. Therefore, we are very pleased to announce that we are expanding our operations and have opened a new office at the Tianjin Professional College in Tianjin.

Please join us in welcoming our two newest staff members to IACLE.

Wang Haiying (Helen) will be working closely with Qu Xiaomei as a second National Coordinator to grow membership and drive program implementation throughout the country. Wang Cuiying (Nancy) has accepted the position of China Administrator and will be working with Helen.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to Professor Dong Gang, President of the Tianjin Professional College, who has provided office space and furniture, and is supporting both Haiying and Cuiying in with their work with IACLE.

Qu Xiaomei and Wang Haiying will collaborate on all program implementation throughout the country but will coordinator membership regionally (north and south). Qu Xiaomei will continue to be the key point of contact for our industry supporters.
