An IACLE Resource Center can be established at the institutions where contact lens educators are Full members of IACLE. At each institution, an IACLE member is asked to assume the responsibility of Resource Coordinator. IACLE has established IACLE Resource Centers in approximately 80% of all Institutions where IACLE has members.

An IACLE Resource Center is a centrally designated area within an Institution, which houses all IACLE educational resources and which can function as a small library or reference center. It is important that as many staff members and supervised students as possible have access to the resource materials IACLE provides.

All IACLE members at the Institutions where IACLE Resource Centers are established are encouraged to house the resources they receive from IACLE in the IACLE Resource Center. The educational institution is asked to support this project by providing the infrastructure necessary to use these resource materials, such as a computer, video player, shelving, etc.

The materials, ordered through IACLE are provided free of charge for the Resource Center or subsidised by IACLE funding. IACLE and the educational institution agree that those materials, partially purchased with funding from the educational institution, will remain in joint ownership with IACLE. Those items that IACLE provides free of charge will remain the property of IACLE. Active IACLE Resource Centers are also eligible to receive a free set of the modules of the Contact Lens Course.

IACLE asks the educational institution to maintain the materials and in the event of loss or damage, to notify the IACLE Secretariat. Liability for these resource materials is the responsibility of the educational institution in the same way as any other teaching materials (either fully or partially) purchased by the educators and these will be replaced at cost.
