DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM
The Distance Learning Program (DLP) in Contact Lens Education is a distance education initiative of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE).
The DLP is especially designed as a method of self-study and remediation for educators who wish to increase their contact lens knowledge base and prepare to write the IACLE Accreditation Examination.
Participants complete short assignments - in multiple choice question format - which are then submitted to the IACLE Coordinator in their country or region for evaluation and scoring. The Coordinator will help to identify areas where the member's knowledge is incomplete and hence where further study is recommended.
THE IACLE Distance Learning Program (DLP) Phases (consisting of 5 assignments each):
Phase 1, based on Modules 1 to 3 of the IACLE Contact Lens Course.
Currently available in English, Chinese, Spanish and Bahasa.
Phase 2, based on sections of Module 3, as well as Modules 4 and 5 of the IACLE Contact Lens Course.
Currently available in English, Chinese, Spanish and Bahasa.
Phase 3, based on Module 6, 7 and part of 9 of the IACLE Contact Lens Course. Currently available in English.
.
Phase 4, based on Module 8, and the remaining sections of Module 9 of the IACLE Contact Lens Course. Currently available in English.
Participation in the DLP assists educators in their preparation for the IACLE Accreditation Exam, which follows the same format. The next sitting of the Exam will be 8 October 2007, so we encourage members to sign-up for this program as soon as possible.
