ICLC cdsIACLE Contact Lens Course

The IACLE Contact Lens Course (ICLC) is a comprehensive, illustrated, 10-volume teaching resource that embraces all levels of contact lens education from introductory to a course-work Masters Degree. All slides, be they pictures, diagrams, or text, are available to the educator so that lectures appropriate to the level and the locale can be assembled with a minimum of having to access external, additional resources. If the printed form is more appropriate, 'textbooks' can be printed of all or some of the 10 modules of the course in either colour or black & white from the PDF files supplied as part of the resource. Many lectures are accompanied by supporting practicals and tutorials, often with matching pro forma answer sheets or, if appropriate, suitable clinical record cards.

It is envisaged that each instance of a contact lens course created using the ICLC represent a sub-set of its content, supplemented by additional material selected by the educator to suit their specific needs or views.

case reportIACLE Case Reports

The IACLE CASE REPORTS Series is a growing collection of interactive, illustrated case reports intended for use as a contact lens teaching resource by educators, practitioners and students.  Applications include: introducing lectures on related topics, assessing knowledge imparted by a lecture, the basis of a tutorial, a self-paced student learning aid, and continuing professional education.

The series includes colour illustrations, videos, and useful references to the IACLE Contact Lens Course and other resources and all include interactive multiple-choice questions that guide the user towards the correct answer with explanations at every step.  Progression through the report is not possible until a correct answer is achieved.  Each report can only be navigated using the on-screen ‘buttons’ provided.

The case reports are based on materials supplied by contact lens educators from around the world.  As the series grows, topics will move from the current introductory and intermediate levels to more advanced topics.  All educators are invited to supply details of cases they believe have educational value.  They are in Flash format and can be easily viewed - just as you would a PowerPoint presentation.

These are available to members through IACLE Resource Centres.  Resource Centre Coordinators are supplied with a username and password to access a secured area of the IACLE website, where they can download a copy of the IACLE Case Reports.  Resource Centre Coordinators without internet access have these available on CD.
